Ariana & Ben
Ben and I met while in college in 2012, ten years before getting married. I was the strong independent jersey girl who played soccer, and he was the sweet southern boy from North Carolina who played lacrosse. He used to talk about me to his roommate all the time, and our paths finally crossed when we first met at a soccer house party. Then, he forgot my name that first night. Of course, I couldn’t just let that go, so we quickly became friends, and it wasn’t long before we became best friends during that summer break. After we reunited our sophomore year, the rest was history. Because we had met in the mountains in Banner Elk, NC and moved to Wilmington, NC after graduation, we were very torn between the beach and the mountains for our wedding. After considering both, we went to see McGuire’s Millrace Farm. Before we left, Ben knew it was the place we were going to get married. My heart was set on the mountains with a rustic magical feel, and that’s exactly what our day turned out to be. Natalie and her team were amazing from the very beginning, and we knew that we were in good hands. From the magical chandeliers inside, to the many options with the river birches outside, it was everything we wanted, and more. On the day of our wedding, we literally faced every kind of weather possible. It started off cold, then rained, hailed, and snowed, and then finally, the day ended with warm sunshine. Even though I was set on having the wedding outside, the moment Natalie showed me what the set-up inside would look like, I knew it was perfect, and everything turned out so beautifully. We were able to celebrate with all our friends and family and still have the outside area for the whiskey/cigar bar. Our magical night came together like a dream, and its memory will surely last a lifetime.
