Alex & Blake
Blake and I met on Tinder, like all the other great love stories of our time. We went on our first date at a local bar in Greenville, NC in late August of 2017. We quickly learned that we were from two different worlds. He was born and raised on a hog farm in a tiny rural town outside of Greenville, and I was a collegiate volleyball playing vegan girl from Houston. As it turned out, we had more in common than we thought. We dated for a year, and then decided to move to Houston together after I graduated. Blake took a knee and asked me to marry him on Christmas morning in 2020. I couldn’t have been more excited.
Blake’s family is from Eastern North Carolina, but we preferred a venue near the mountains. So we started searching for venues on the west side of the state. We found several options, but when we discovered The Parker Mill, it was love at first sight. It had everything we were looking for! We booked a flight to check it out in person and meet the owners. The venue was just as perfect as the photos, and the owners were the coolest people. We booked it immediately and felt so lucky to have our wedding there. We were introduced to their preferred vendors and began putting together a dream team for our big day. We selected photographers, coordinators, caterers, bakers, florists, and a DJ from their preferred vendors list. The decision to work with vendors who were experienced in working together streamlined the process for us. The day turned out beautifully with minimal mishaps that were easily navigated. It was the most perfect day!
