There was a lot that led up to our special day, beginning with our engagement on May 14, 2021. We immediately started planning and decided we wanted to have our wedding in Wilmington, North Carolina, where Sean’s parents had just moved from our hometown in Northport, NY. From there, everything fell into place.

We explored barn style weddings (my inspiration was April Kepner and Jackson Avery’s wedding on Grey’s Anatomy mixed with Bella’s wedding in Twilight). Our wedding photographer, Kennedy Parker, and our planner, Megan Smith, along with all our other vendors did all the work for us the day of and it was surprisingly relaxing for both of us…even with an impromptu hurricane Ophelia in the midst! While we planned an outdoor wedding under a big tree, it didn’t exactly work out that way. But it turned out just as amazing as we could’ve imagined, thanks to our vendors’ help. Our photographer was still able to capture us outside under that tree, even in the storm.
