Dustin and I met online through Facebook, a modern twist to a timeless story. Though I turned him down the first time he asked me out, Dustin’s persistence paid off. He often jokes that I finally came to my senses, and indeed, I did. From that moment on, our love story began to unfold in the most beautiful way.

What truly won my heart was seeing Dustin as an amazing father, not just to his daughter but to my girls as well. His unwavering love and dedication to our blended family solidified my feelings. During a family vacation, on a serene beach, Dustin proposed, creating a memory we will cherish forever.

Our wedding at Rocking B Farms in Clyde, NC, was a dream come true. Having been married before, both of us liked to take the long way around to find the right road to happiness. We joke that we had to get lost a few times before finding our way to each other. Our wedding was an intimate, rustic celebration with our daughters as our only wedding party, making it deeply personal and special.

One unforgettable moment during our ceremony was exchanging the vows we had written ourselves. Dustin surprised me with a quote from Dr. Seuss: "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." He then expressed that he stood before something he never thought he would have—a complete family. Hearing him say that made my heart melt.

Our wedding was perfect in its simplicity. Everything was DIY or thrifted, focusing on what truly mattered—our love, our vows, and sharing this day with our family, friends, and, most importantly, our three girls.

Our journey reminds us that true love is worth waiting for. No matter how many detours you take, there is someone special out there for everyone, ready to turn dreams into reality.
