Allison & Chad
JULY 28, 2023
Chad and I are a Bumble success story! We matched on the dating app in 2019 in Northwest Arkansas - just after Chad moved there for work. After messaging back-and-forth, Chad noticed that I looked familiar, and he asked if I was the same news anchor “Allison Wise” on 40/29 News. (Busted!) I was attempting to be facetious by not disclosing where I worked. Thankfully, we hit it off after a few dates realizing that we both love food, travel and have a soft spot for rescue animals.
Chad always talked of this magical place in the mountains of North Carolina where his parents had a second home for several years. He loved to venture there for fly-fishing and hiking. We found out that Old Edwards had a cancellation and fast-tracked our wedding planning for a July date. After visiting, I knew it would be the perfect spot for our ceremony and would provide a weekend of fun outdoor activities for our close family and friends. For guests’ lodging, we booked Half-Mile Farm: a sister property to Old Ewards tucked away from town with a main lodge, cozy cabins, a lake, and mountain views. Getting married later in life (I’m 37 and Chad 44), we opted for no attendants or wedding party. We were married on Friday, and in place of a rehearsal dinner, we had a “Post-Toast Oyster Roast & Soiree” on Saturday! They loved the opportunity to have a day exploring beautiful Highlands, NC.
