Kelsey & Christian
On February 29, 2020, Christian heard that his god sister was planning a trip to Charlotte to visit his family and explore the city for a night out. His god sister invited Kelsey, her childhood friend, to come along. When Christian arrived home that weekend, he realized that his god sister had brought a friend (Kelsey), and he couldn’t take his eyes off her.
That night, Kelsey and Christian let their long glances and bashful smiles across the dinner table do the talking for them. That day, a Leap Day, with an unprecedented global pandemic on the horizon, was also the start of a beautiful, intimate relationship. They later got engaged on a white sandy beach in Aruba on April 22nd (the day in between their April birthdays — Kelsey was totally surprised!), and were married that same year, October 23rd, 2022.
The wedding day was filled with unfortunate surprises, yet there was a surpassing peace. There were bed bug bites on the bride, last-minute cancellations from vendors, technical difficulties from the DJ, sparklers that wouldn’t sparkle…you name it! But the presence of God was felt through the clouds overhead and in the gentle wind that danced across the cobblestone walkway. When the ceremony started, Kelsey and Christian locked eyes with each other, as they had that first night they met, and revealed the depth of their love in front of family and friends. It was truly a day to always remember.
