Shanlee & Taten
Taten and I first met on Tinder, which each of our friends had set up for us. We met in person for the first time in the Walmart parking lot in Sylva, NC after I got off of work. We talked in the parking lot for hours and hours. We soon became inseparable and began falling in love. Only five short months after Taten asked me to be his girlfriend, he left for nine weeks to further his law enforcement career. During that time, we wrote letters to each other and had a few FaceTime calls and phone calls. Even though we had limited contact during this time, our love and assurance for one another only grew stronger. There was one weekend that we both had off, so we did some exploring together. On Saturday night, we went to Wayah Bald to watch the sunset. On Sunday, we went to The Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina. Then on Monday, we went to Highlands, NC to see the waterfalls because Taten had never been. On Tuesday morning around 8:20 am (after Taten carried the ring in his pocket all weekend, waiting for the perfect moment), he proposed at the same place where he had asked me to be his girlfriend (Wayah Bald) while we were watching the sunrise. Our simple rustic chic wedding couldn't have been better, from the succulents to the dusty blue and rose gold colors, to the beautiful mountain view of Lewis Farm Venue. Our day was absolutely PERFECT.
