Our special day was just that – special and uniquely us. It is hard to look back on our wedding day and believe it wasn’t all a dream. We chose our venue, Raffaldini Vineyards, because it brought back such fun memories of visiting the Castello di Verrazzano vineyard during our trip to Florence, Italy in 2019. The vineyard was difficult to get to and required an hour-long local bus ride into rural Tuscany. We had no idea what we were doing but we trusted that as long as we were together, we would be just fine. It was our favorite part of the trip, and we wanted to recreate it as best as we could for our wedding day. Three years and a COVID delay later, we experienced the wonderful wedding day we had always envisioned. Just like our bus ride to the Tuscan vineyard, our wedding day was filled with uncertainty, common mishaps, and some not-so-common mishaps, too. Constantly changing weather forecasts and annoying pimples were to be expected, but we didn’t expect a town-wide power outage 3 hours before the wedding! Thankfully, my dad brought his RV which had enough power to finish getting my hair curled! The power outage persisted throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour and was still out as we were finishing our couples photos. To say I was worried would have been an understatement, but just like on the bus in Italy, we trusted it would all work out, and it did! One of my favorite photos from that day is a picture of Evan and I kissing as we are walking back to the reception tent (the lights were ON), and all our loved ones were there and ready to celebrate. We feel so blessed to have the best family, friends and vendors who helped to make our dream wedding a reality!
