Erin & Joey
Joey and I met while briefly working together at a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Two years later, mutual friends set us up. Our friendship grew and before long we were inseparable. After four years of dating, Joey proposed in EPCOT a couple days before Thanksgiving, and we spent the rest of the week celebrating with family.
We knew we wanted to get married somewhere in the mountains and being from North Carolina, I was hoping we would find the perfect location there – and we did! Our photographer was amazing in helping us find the perfect spot to take pictures before the ceremony. We hiked over a mile on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the views were incredible!
My Dad passed in 2019, so I had every intention of walking myself down the aisle but when Joey’s Dad asked if he could walk me down the aisle, the answer was obvious. His parents have always been so loving and welcoming, so it was special to have that moment with him.
Our ceremony was intimate and full of love. Seventy of our closest family and friends came from all corners of the country to be with us. We chose to write our own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. Our reception was fun and uniquely us with many Disney and Marvel details! We even had a Cohen family flash mob and a cameo from Billy Boyd congratulating us on our ‘fellowship.’
